Vedic Political System: Sabha, Samiti and Jana
Early Vedic political organization was strongly based on kin groups and communities. Jana, Vis, Rajan, Sabha, Samiti and Vidatha were important institutions. In the Later Vedic period, political identity became increasingly territorial and kingship grew stronger.
